Ming's role at Sonoco is leading a team of engineers and chemists that work with paper, adhesives and recycling to minimize cost and waste while maximizing sustainability. With every project, they utilize new technology that helps them create innovative designs customers didn't even know they needed – Sonoco always plans for tomorrow.

Employees can choose between two plans administered by UnitedHeathcare (UHC). Our medical plan options have preventive/wellness care covered at 100%, and allow all covered employees and dependents to earn Health Incentive Account (HIA) Rewards. Sonoco also sponsors a comprehensive Health Coaching program.
Our dental PPO, offered through MetLife, allows employees to choose their provider. Preventive services are 100% covered by the plan and orthodontia services are available for children up to age 19.
Sonoco's top-notch vision plan is administered by Superior Vision, and includes one eye exam ($10 copayment) and the purchase of lenses once per calendar year.
Sonoco's 401(K) plan offers its employees a range of investment options to help them save for the future, and matches a portion of their savings.
Flexible Spending Accounts:
We make sure you can stretch your dollars to the maximum. Our employees can contribute up to $2,500 per calendar year to a Sonoco Health Care Flexible Spending Account, or $5,000 to a Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Account.
Employee Assistance Program:
Our free and confidential Employee Assistance Program is readily available to help employees to the fullest extent possible, to deal with any personal issues they might find themselves coping with. Our Guidance Resources Program (GRP) gives our teammates access to specialists and counselors who can help out.
Defined Contribution Pension Plan:
With a three-year vesting requirement, the Sonoco Retirement Contribution ensures eligible employees receive the annual contribution in the first quarter for the prior year.
Flexible Work Arrangements:
We want our employees to be able to perform their best, and we know that flexible work arrangements are the way to go about it. Flextime, part-time, job-sharing, a compressed workweek and telecommuting are just some ways in which we make their lives easier.
